On-site or near site employee health and wellness centers are becoming an increasingly popular way to reduce plan costs, while increasing the quality of service that employees receive. Often, employees have a $0 copay when they visit their health center and can have no additional costs for lab work and prescription drugs. Company health incentive programs such as blood draws and annual physicals can also be performed at employee health centers. These centers allow employers to have more control over plan costs by contracting directly with providers and by encouraging a healthier employee population.
